Title III Avenue to Success Mission Statement

SCC's Avenue to Success Title III Program is "student-centered, as evidenced by high-quality, committed faculty and staff" who sustain "a collaborative learning environment where students are the first priority." This mission is directly in line with SCC's mission "to serve the community by providing a learning-centered, high-quality educational institution that anticipates and meets the needs of the community by providing a comprehensive range of programs and services."

The Avenue to Success Title III Program is designed to assist college prep students in becoming acclimated to the college environment and acquainted with the rigors of achieving academic success during the critical first year of college. Peer mentors and senior mentors provide support for students in designated classes, led by dedicated faculty.

In addition to a transformed Academic Success Center, the Faculty Institute for Teaching and Learning provides opportunities for all College faculty members to engage in professional development activities that are supportive of engaging teaching and learning.
