Assessment and Testing Decision Tree
SCC is a comprehensive college. We offer a variety of programs to help you meet your educational, professional, and personal goals.
As part of Florida's educational system SCC students must meet certain testing requirements to:
- Enroll in a program
- Graduate from or complete some programs
Do you know what test(s) you need to take?
Test requirements are based on the program and individual tests are subject to their own rules. SCC also maintains its own guidelines and must follow those set by the state including:
- All required tests can be taken at the SCC Assessment and Testing Center.
- If you have taken a required test outside of the Assessment and Testing Center, you are responsible for getting your scores to SCC.
- SAT and ACT scores should not be more than two years old. If they are older than two years, you may need to take the CPT test.
- Scoring low or failing part or all of a test does not always mean you will not be admitted to a program. You may have to take preparatory courses before you are allowed to enroll. Or, you may have to work with SCC's STAR Center while you are enrolled in the program. Speak to the Admissions Office or a College counselor for more information.
