Looking to make it big on the outside?

The shift from goods-producing industries to service-producing industries will create millions of jobs in the next decade for engineers, nurses, electrical and electronics technicians, and other technically trained professionals. Says who? The Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The fastest growing jobs in the nation right now are technical and technical support jobs.

Of the top 100 occupations listed in The Jobs Rated Almanac, almost 80 percent demand post-secondary education, and well over 80 percent require computer literacy. If you have technical training after high school and a two-year associate degree, you'll make it. But why wait for high school to end?

Leave the others behind and get college credit for classes you can take now.

Get high-paying jobs faster with Tech Prep.

  • Start by taking designated technical courses at your high school.
  • At the end of the year, you'll take an SCC assessment in your classroom. If you pass the class you will be eligible for college credit!
  • When you graduate from high school, and fill out a "request for Tech Prep Credit," you enter SCC ahead of your classmates, thanks to the credit hours you've earned. You may even graduate with your Associate in Science degree sooner.
  • After SCC, you've got a choice. Go after one of those great jobs right away, or go for your advanced degree.
  • Many Tech Prep credits can help you satisfy the requirements for the Florida Gold Seal Scholarship, which pays up to 75 percent of your college tuition if you qualify.
