$33 million facility will transform SCC’s first campus soon

SCC's Sanford/Lake Mary Campus, the College’s first and largest campus, is being transformed by an $85 million construction and renovation campaign.

The cornerstone of the makeover is a $33 million, four-story SCC/UCF University Partnership Center, which will be built next to the A Building. The 100,000-square-foot facility will:

• Enhance educational opportunities for residents of Seminole County and strengthen SCC's partnership with UCF, the region's leading university, by providing a base for UCF classes and student services. UCF already offers 20 degree programs on the Campus. The new facility also will make it easier for UCF to continue adding degrees at SCC.
• Provide the College with a new 33,000-square-foot library that will support emerging technologies and provide the flexibility to meet the future needs of students. Students will benefit immediately with more computer access and larger, more interactive study rooms.

Construction Timeline

• July 1, 2008: Construction commences on the SCC-UCF University Partnership Center. 
• June 24, 2008: A construction fence was erected around the build site.
• June 23, 2008: The parking lot across from the A Building is closed permanently.
• May 2, 2008: Road and parking lot closure
• May 21, 2008: Groundbreaking ceremony
• Spring 2010: SCC/UCF University Partnership Center opening
