Mentoring: The Unknown Advantage

Students walk through life everyday unaware of the depths of their personality style, leadership style and potential for success. It is important that this "blind spot" in life be realized and eliminated. The most obvious yet overlooked key to discovering one's abilities is by asking experienced and successful leaders to enter into a mentoring relationship, because it often takes someone other than yourself to help you develop your true potential.

What Is A Mentor?

A mentor is a person who works with you as often as you'd like to help you achieve your full potential as a person. Your mentor can help you set specific academic, career and leadership goals and teach you everything they have learned about becoming a successful student and professional. You can ask your mentor if they are available to meet on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis.

Reap The Benefits!

The greatest benefit to having a mentor is the opportunity to engage in a one-on-one relationship with someone who is basically a teacher.

  • A mentor will provide you with a new and different perspective on issues that concern you.
  • You will develop more specific academic, career and leadership goals.
  • You will be motivated to excel in areas you normally would have no interest in.
  • And much more...

Nowhere else can you receive the attention you need to be a success in your field!

"Shout Outs" about the Student Leadership Mentoring Program

"The mentoring program has caused me to think constructively about my future as a leader. By exposing me to a leader-rich environment, I have received an opportunity I wouldn't have otherwise been privy to."

"Through my meetings with my mentor, I have learned to control how I react to the world around me. I have learned that there is always a choice. I am a new person; much calmer and more willing to take the time to see things for what they truly are."
