Admission Requirements


Respiratory Therapy

  • Complete SCC application for admission
  • Complete Respiratory Care application
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • CPT Test
  • Possess Intermediate Algebra skill level
  • Grades of "C" or better in Anatomy and Physiology I (BSC 2093C) and English I (ENC 1101)
  • College GPA 2.5
  • All students entering a healthcare program with a clinical component will be required to complete a criminal background check. Students must be free of offenses which could potentially disqualify them from working in a healthcare environment (Florida Statute 400.211). Admission into clinicals is at the discretion of the clinical agencies.

College counselors are available to assist students in the admission process. Students must attend a mandatory information session as part of the application process.

Application deadline
  • New students - May 1 to May 31*
  • Transition students who are Certified Respiratory Therapists - January 1

*Applications received after May 1 to May 31 will still be accepted, but admission will be granted on a space available basis.
