Anti-Nepotism - Policy 2.095
Policy:In order to avoid even an appearance of impropriety, an individual may not be appointed or assigned to a full-time position in which an in-line supervisor is a relative. Adjunct instructors and other part-time employees who are not evaluated by a relative; or, whose evaluation is not reviewed by a relative, are exempt from this rule. An in-line supervisor is defined as an individual to whom an employee or an applicant for employment would directly or indirectly report. A relative is defined as father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, first cousin, nephew, niece, husband, wife, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, stepfather, stepmother, stepson, stepdaughter, stepbrother, stepsister, half-brother, or half-sister. For one period not to exceed six months, the President may temporarily appoint or assign an individual to a position which would otherwise be prohibited by this rule. Any employment circumstance which is already in existence as of the effective date of this rule may continue as an exception to the rule. |
