Physical Science

Seminole Community College offers a wide variety of physical science classes for students pursuing careers in science-related fields. SCC's physical science courses encompass chemistry, the Earth sciences (astronomy, geology, meteorology and oceanography) and physics.

Many SCC students pursue degrees in engineering, computer science, various medical careers, technology or other pre-professional programs. Those who successfully complete the prescribed curriculum for these majors at SCC and transfer to senior universities generally perform equal to or better than native university students do. That's because the small classes offered at SCC allow students to get the extra help and direction they need to better understand and master the basic concepts of science, which are necessary to excel in advanced science work.

The College's new science laboratory building offers students state-of-the-art science labs; coupled with the small classroom environment, student learning is maximized, especially because of regular one-on-one interaction with instructors.
