What is the NET exam?

The Nurse Entrance Test (NET) measures your reading, math and cognitive skills. It determines the academic and social abilities of nursing program applicants. These skills and abilities are crucial to succeed as a nursing student and as a nurse, nursing assistant, or medical assistant.

What is the exam content?

The NET exam focuses on three major topics:

  • Math
    This portion of the exam evaluates your ability to perform basic operations from general math through basic algebra. These operations include whole numbers, decimals, fractions, percentages, number sequence conversions and algebraic equations.
  • Reading Rate
    This section estimates how many words per minute you can read during a test or study situation.
  • Reading Comprehension
    Reading comprehension uses science-related materials. It evaluates how well you understand what you`ve read.
