This program is for students who are currently Certified Nursing Assistants and Advanced Home Health Aides in the State of Florida and/or who have successfully completed HCP0100C and HCP0310 and want to obtain the additional skills necessary to work in a health care facility other than a nursing home.

All students entering a healthcare program with a clinical component will be required to complete a criminal background check. Students must be free of offenses which could potentially disqualify them from working in a healthcare environment (Florida Statute 400.211). Admission into clinicals is at the discretion of the clinical agencies.

HCP0100CNursing Assistant
This course is designed to provide classroom, nursing laboratory and clinical experiences for selected tasks related to personal hygiene, comfort, and safety measures for residents in long-term care facilities. Resident care is performed under direct supervision of a registered instructor. Lab fee required.

HCP0310Home Health Aide
This course prepares Certified Nursing Assistants for employment in the home health field. The course will prepare the student to deliver care to clients wishing to maintain their independence by remaining in their homes. The role of the Home Health Aide and legal and ethical considerations are discussed. Personal care, maintaining activities of daily living and food preparation and household management are included in the course. Lab fee required.

HCP0620CPatient Care Assistant
This course is designed to be offered to students who have successfully completed the Articulated Nursing Assistant and Advanced Home Health Aide courses and want to obtain the additional skills necessary to work in a health care facility other than a nursing home. Occupational Completion Point C. Lab fee required.
