Mathematics Department

Learn new ways to approach problem-solving, use the latest technology and take advantage of sophisticated computer-based instruction.

Whatever your math level, basic arithmetic to differential equations, there is a course designed by SCC's math faculty for you. Instructors, providing caring, personal instruction combined with state-of-the-art technology, are committed to exploring new ways of teaching math.

Math students have easy access to computer technology, both in the classroom and in SCC's fully staffed Academic Success Center. In fact, Statistical Methods I (STA2023) is taught entirely in computer labs so that students can work along with the professor on some problems.

If you have "math anxiety," if you find math challenging, or desire a quality foundation in math for an engineering, science or A.S. degree; you'll find math courses planned just for you.

Many courses are taught with a choice of traditional, distance learning, or computer-based instruction to suit your best learning style.
