Library Services for Visitors and Alumni

Library Services for Visitors and Alumni

Seminole Community College is a state-funded college, and our doors are open to the public. Visitors are welcome to use any of our libraries located on the Sanford/Lake Mary, Altamonte Springs and Oviedo Campuses during their hours of operation.

Visitors may browse the library book collections, magazines and journals; conduct research on the computers in the reference instruction areas;  and photocopy materials within copyright guidelines. The Reference Staff is available to assist visitors with computer access and locate library resources. Visitors may utilize our subscription databases while in the library.

Visitors may also access the library's online catalog anywhere they have Internet access. As noted above, online databases are available only in the library facility.

Due to growing needs of our student body, we are no longer able to lend materials to the general public; however, we will loan materials through Interlibrary Loan. If you see a title in our collection that you would like to borrow, the reference staff will help you gather the information needed to make an Interlibrary Loan request for the item through your local public library.

Please note that our primary mission is to support college instruction and serve students and faculty. When reference area computers in the library are reserved for class instruction, it is possible that there will be neither computers nor staff available to assist you at that moment.

Visitors are advised to review the Library Handbook for more information.

Please address any questions or concerns to:
