Finding materials on reserve

When professors place materials "on reserve", the materials are kept at the Circulation Counter in the Libraries. They are also listed in the online catalog. To use the materials, bring your SCC Card and request the items at the Circulation Desk. The staff will let you know how long you may use the items and whether or not they may be taken from the Library.

Placing materials on reserve

To put material on reserve for student use at Sanford/Lake Mary or Heathrow Center, contact Leona Jones at x2618, or jonesl@scc-fl.edu.
To put material on reserve for students at Oviedo, contact Chantel Moore at x5058 or moorec@scc-fl.edu

Faculty may place materials on reserve for the exclusive use by their students by contacting the Circulation Department at the Sanford/Lake Mary campus or the Circulation/Reference desk at the Oviedo campus. Faculty may stipulate length of use & whether materials may be taken outside the facility.

The Library at  Sanford/Lake Mary handles all reserve requests on the behalf of the Heathrow Center. Materials may be placed on Reserve for brief periods of days or weeks, for an entire semester, or longer, depending upon the needs of the program or course. Library Specialists will contact faculty if they see that reserve materials are unused, to determine whether materials should be pulled from the shelves or used for another course.
