Most poetry is found in collections. Do an “Author (last name, first)” search using LINCCWeb Online Catalog or another library to locate books of poetry written by a specific person. The online record may tell you what poems are contained therein or you may have to use the table of contents or index of the book itself.
Locate a Copy of a poem/LINCC Online Catalog: Subject Headings
Use a Subject Search on LINCCWeb Online Catalog or another library to locate collections of poetry. Locate Criticism of a poem/LINCCWeb Online Catalog: Research Strategy - At “Search By” “Subject begins with,” type your search. For Example.Type author's last name first name
- Click "Go."
- In the Browse list, look for the heading:author's last name first name Dates of birth-death criticism and interpretation. Example: dickinson emily 1830-1886criticism and interpretation
- Click links until you locate sources. The online record may tell you what poems are contained therein or you may have to use the table of contents or index of the book itself to locate material that contains the poem you are critiquing.
