Citing SCC Databases To date, SCC's Library/Learning Resource Center has 17 registered collections of databases. Within these collections, you will find databases. For example, FirstSearch allows access to 46 databases such as WilsonSelect Plus, ArticleFirst, and FactSearch. To use a registered database, you must have a SCC library card. When you are searching for articles, keep track of the database you are in so you will have adequate information for works cited pages and parenthetical information within the research paper. SCC Library/Learning Resource Center also provides access to many free databases. Among these are Britannica.com, ERIC, and Medline. Citing SCC On-Line Databases Full-text articles from SCC's registered online databases are materials previously or simultaneously made available in print (such as newspapers, magazines, and journals). When documenting material from online databases, begin your citation with the printed source information. Remember which database you are using because you must include its name in a citation.
