Cite MLA IntroductionDear SCC Student, The English Department hopes you find the information in this booklet helpful as you learn to research the Internet and wisely use its vast storehouse of knowledge. The citing guidelines are from the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers, 5th edition - the latest one published in 1999 -- and the MLA Website. We believe you can rely on the instructions and examples we have given you. Keep in mind, however, these samples are not exhaustive. If you need further help in documenting sources not listed in this booklet, we suggest you consult an English handbook published in 1998 or later, or the MLA Handbook, 5th edition. As you continue your education at SCC or other institutions of higher learning, you will need to keep apprised of updated guidelines regarding Internet research and documentation. As technology changes, use of electronic material and publications will change as well. The cyberspace world is a frontier - an exciting and challenging place of discovery. |
