Technical Services

The Technical Service Department purchases Library books and media; handles Inter-Library Loan requests, catalogs all Library resources and makes them ready for use. The Technical Services Librarian and department staff maintain quality of the Library collection, and frequently suggest to librarian liaisons and faculty that certain resources should be replaced, repaired, updated, etc. The Technical Services Librarian is also responsible for maintenance of all bibliographic records in the SCC Library catalog, keeping lines of communication (virtual and real) between our institution and individuals wishing to access our resources.

Faculty are urged to assist in maintaining the currency and appropriateness of the library collection by recommending new print and non-print materials, and by advising library staff when materials in the collection have become obsolete and should be removed.

Requests for print (book) and non-print (audio-visual) materials may be submitted to the Linda Sutton, Manager Library Technical Services, L-114, ext. 2114, or via the form on the library's Website. Contact Linda directly if there are questions on funding, ordering, time frame between request and "on the shelf", etc.
