Borrowing Library Materials

A Seminole State ID card activated for library use is required to borrow materials from the Seminole State Library.

  • Current Seminole State students, faculty and staff can obtain an ID card from the Sanford/Lake Mary and Altamonte Springs Campus libraries, the Oviedo Campus Business Office or the Heathrow Campus Student Services Office during regular library or office hours. To activate your library account, bring your ID card to the Library Circulation Desk on any Seminole State campus.
  • Distance Learning students may request a library account via e-mail.
  • Retired faculty and staff can obtain a library card at the Library Circulation Desk on any Seminole State campus. A valid photo ID is required.

Replacement library cards cost $10.

Note: Community members may not borrow Seminole State Library materials.

Library Account Benefits

The library account number on the front of your Seminole State ID card offers many benefits. In addition to borrowing library materials, you can:

  • Search the LINCCWeb online database. When entering your library account number in LINCC, please omit the letter "A" from either end.
  • Borrow library materials from any Florida state-funded community college or university (be prepared to present your Seminole State ID card). Materials borrowed from other colleges and universities may be returned to Seminole State for courier delivery to the lending library.

Current students from other Florida colleges and universities may check out materials from the Seminole State Library by presenting a valid college ID from their respective school.

Reserve Material

Instructors can place materials on reserve for a particular course. Reserve items are shelved at the Circulation Desk. Most reserve items are not available for regular checkout but can be borrowed for shorter periods of time. When searching the LINCC online catalog, reserves are indicated on the "Full View of Record" screen under "Collection."
