Borrowing Library Materials

An SCC ID card is required to borrow all materials.

  • Current SCC students, faculty or staff may obtain the ID card in the SLM Library during any library hours, and activate their library accounts on their SCC ID cards by visiting the Circulation Desk at any SCC Campus Library.
  • All SCC ID's must be activated at the library in order for them to be used as library cards.
  • Retired faculty and staff can obtain an SCC Library Card from providing a valid photo identification at the Circulation Desk at any SCC Campus Library.
  • Distance Learning students may request a library account via e-mail.
  • Replacement cards cost $10.
  • The library account number on the front of your SCC Card enables you to:
    • Search LINCCWeb Online Databases
    • Borrow library material from any Florida state-funded community college or university. Be prepared to produce your SCC ID card.
    • Note: Please ignore the letter "A" that may appear at the beginning and end of the row of numbers when entering your account number in LINCC for online catalog and database access.
  • Currently registered students from other Florida Community Colleges and Universities may check out materials by presenting a valid ID from their respective schools. Materials from any state community college or university may be returned at SCC for courier delivery to the lending library.
Reserve Material

Reserve Materials are placed on reserve by instructors for a particular course. Items are shelved at the Circulation Department. Most reserve items are not available for regular checkout, but students are allowed to check materials out for shorter periods.
