Purpose

To foster personal and professional growth among SCC faculty and staff, understanding their leadership styles to make a difference in our institution, in our community and in their personal lives.

Program Goals

For the Individual:

• Foster personal growth and achievement
• Understand how your leadership style can help you lead from where you are
• Empower individuals to demonstrate effective leadership and develop their careers
• Increase awareness of competencies for community college leaders

For the College:

• Cultivate collaboration and cooperation throughout the College
• Develop an active cohort of effective leaders
• Create positive changes both within the institution and in the community

For the Community:

• Engage SCC employees with the internal and external communities
• Develop links and foster relationships with community, business and government organizations
• Heighten visibility for SCC by showcasing the Leadership Academy Program
• Better enable SCC to lead our region in higher education, community enhancement, economic development, diversity and cultural enrichment
