Q: Why is the International Student Office Important?

A: The International Student office exists to help you. We are happy to welcome international students. You help provide the intercultural dimensions that enhance the educational experience of all students.

Q: Why should I choose a Community College?

A: Community Colleges provide general education coursework equal to the first two years of a four-year bachelor's degree. If you would like to continue your education, the course work is transferable to a four-year college or university. The advantages of the community college philosophy are:

  • Small classes
  • Opportunity for personal attention and assistance
  • Easier transition from a high school to the college/university environment
  • Additional student development services
  • Lower tuition costs
Q: What is the SCC application deadline?

A:. The last day to apply is the day prior to the start of classes each term. The Academic Calendar lists all important term dates. You can also contact the International Student Office for more information.

Q: What are the requirements to apply at SCC?

A: Go to Admissions Requirements

Q: How can I transfer to SCC from another school in the U.S.?

A: Follow the Transfer Admissions Process and submit the transfer form.

Q: What are Foreign Educational Transcripts?

A: If you did not complete your high school education and/or university studies in the United States you may need to have your transcripts translated to English. You can contact an evaluation company (Josef Silny and Associates or World Education Services) evaluate and translate your transcripts.

Q: How much is the tuition?

A: Please refer to the current fee schedule.

Q: I have an F-1 Visa. When can I enter the U.S.?

A: According to regulations, you are allowed to enter the United States only 30 days prior to the start date shown on your I-20.

Q: What financial documents are required?
A: Please verify if applying for College Credit Courses or Language Institute Program.
