Obtaining a Social Security Number

Effective, October 13, 2004, the Social Security Administration will not accept an application for a Social Security Number from an F-1 student who will be employed on-campus, unless the student has both a letter from the DSO and proof of employment. In a few instances an F-1 student could be eligible to apply for a Social Security Number. To obtain more information, contact your International Advisor.
