Work Schedule Guidelines

  • The summer work schedule will be in effect Monday, May 5, 2008, until Thursday, July 31, 2008. All employees will resume regular work hours and a five-day workweek on Monday, August 3, 2008.
  • Employees who are assigned to a four-day workweek schedule must complete 37.5 hours of work during the Monday through Thursday time period, with a provision for a 30-minute, unpaid lunch break each day.
  • Faculty who are assigned to a summer schedule will fulfill their responsibilities (teaching, office hours, committee work, etc.) during their 32.5 on-campus hours, Monday through Thursday. Although an unpaid lunch break is not included in the 32.5 on-campus hours, at their option, faculty may choose to extend their workday to allow additional time for a lunch break.

Core Hours

  • Core hours will be designated as 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
  • All employees should be at work during core hours. To ensure adequate office coverage, employees should avoid taking lunch breaks during core hours.
  • Every effort will be made to schedule meetings during these times.

Service Hours

*Holidays and Emergency Closings

  • In the event that the College is closed for a full day due to a holiday or an emergency, 9.5 hours will be applied to the day the College is closed. The remaining 28 hours of the 37.5-hour workweek should be scheduled on the remaining three days of the same week. No overtime or compensatory time will accrue as a result of a holiday or emergency closing.
