Who May Create Documents?

Academic departments, programs, centers or institutes, or administrative departments may submit content to be linked to the SCC Web site. Faculty members may create faculty teaching sites to be linked to the SCC web site. These web documents are located within an individually maintained sub-directories or "subwebs" on the college servers. To create a web site on one of the SCC servers you will need to fill out a User Access Form. This access form is available from the CTS office or department secretaries. Filling out the request is not a guarantee of access; it is a request. We will review the request and determine how best to meet your needs.

Registered student organizations may also request permission to publish Web documents. Student organization Web pages must conform to the same established standards required for all SCC web pages. Student Club pages must be requested and supervised by the club's advisor.

In addition to subwebs, faculty may also request ANGEL course sites to be created on the DL server in order to develop online courses, or to add online components (such as bulletin boards, chat rooms, etc.) to their on-campus courses. ANGEL sites differ from subwebs in that they contain interactive tools for online course delivery. ANGEL sites are also password protected and cannot be accessed by students who are not enrolled in the specific course. Many instructors use subwebs in conjunction with ANGEL to make course information available to both enrolled and prospective students. For more information about ANGEL, please see the Faculty Support page on the Distance Learning site.

For a concise, step by step guide to establishing authorization and putting your web page/site on an SCC server, please consult Steps for Developing and Maintaining Web Pages at SCC. For a step by step guide to establishing an SCC ANGEL course, please consult the Faculty Support Information on the Distance Learning web site.
