Steps for Developing and Maintaining Web Pages at SCC - Familiarize yourself with SCC's Computer Use Policy regarding Internet usage.
- Review the QuickStart Guide to learn about absolute requirements and suggested styles for your SCC web page.
- Request site development using the User Access Request form.
- The College licenses Microsoft Frontpage software for use in faculty Web development.
- If you are interested in developing online courses or course support materials, contact Wilma Hodges, the Instructional Technology Specialist in the Distance Learning Department, regarding the technical support and development tools that are available.
- Develop your Web materials off-line, verifying their content and functionality thoroughly before publishing documents to the server.
- When your page/site is complete and ready for review, notify WebSupport. After the review is complete a link will then be created from the SCC web site to your home page.
- Your Web site will then be issued an expiration date of six months from the date of publication. As that date nears you will be notified that you should review your page, following the guidelines established by the Web Guidelines Group. Web Support should receive a completed Web Review Checklist within one month of your expiration date. Failure to confirm the review of your Web site will result in your Web site being considered expired. Once a page is allowed to expire, its link to the SCC Web site will be deactivated.
