Admissions Process

Whatever your goals, we're here to help. SCC's counselors and admissions staff are happy to answer your questions, provide you with information, and get you started towards the best two years of your life.

First Time in College Students
Steps to Enroll

1 Fill out an Application

To obtain an application for admission:

  • Print it from the SCC Web site (SCC application for admission).
  • Pick one up from any SCC facility: the Sanford/Lake Mary, Oviedo or Altamonte Springs Campuses, or the Heathrow Center.
  • Call 407.708.2050.
2 Verify your Residency Status
The Florida Residency form can be found within SCC’s Admissions Application. You must provide sufficient documentation to be able to register for classes. The deadline for documentation is always the day before each term begins.
3 Complete an Entrance Exam
If you have taken the SAT or ACT, an official copy must be on file in SCC’s Records Office before your advising appointment. If you have not taken either test, Computerized Placement Test (CPT) is provided on walk-in basis at any of SCC’s Testing and Assessment Offices. Testing hours.
4 Complete your Financial Aid Form
If you have not applied for financial aid, do so immediately at www.fafsa.ed.gov. It usually takes four to six weeks to determine your eligibility.
5 Provide your Transcripts
Official transcripts must be sent from your high school to SCC’s Records Office, 100 Weldon Blvd., Sanford, FL 32773.
6 Create your MySCC Student Account
Go to my.scc-fl.edu. Follow the instructions to create a new student account. If you have questions, visit MySCC Help page or 407.708.2050.
7 View SCC’s Online Orientation
Orientation is mandatory for all new students. During orientation you will learn about College policies and procedures and campus activities. For more information, please call 407.708.2050. Online orientation.
8 Meet with an Adviser
After you complete your online orientation, you will have the opportunity to meet with an academic adviser. Please bring a copy of your test scores to your advising appointment. The adviser will use your test scores to help you plan your course schedule for your first term at SCC.
9 Register for Classes
Following advisement, register for classes using MySCC.
10 Pay Fees

After you register for your classes, check your "Total Due Charges" on MySCC to find out how much you owe the College and your payment due date. You can pay at a cashier window or online using MySCC. SCC accepts cash, debit card, personal check, American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa.

Defer Fees

If you are receiving financial aid, you must accept/decline your financial aid and sign a deferment. Log in to MySCC and click on "Accept Aid and Defer Payment." Click here for instructions.
