What is College Dual Enrollment?

The Dual Enrollment program allows students to pursue an advanced curriculum relevant to their individual postsecondary interest. Students will earn credit toward high school completion and a career certificate, or an associate or baccalaureate degree at a Florida public institution. Dual Enrollment is a great opportunity for students to take college level courses while still in high school. Seminole Community College offers three different program paths within Dual Enrollment: A.A. (General Education), A.S. (Career), and V.C. (Vocational Certificate).

  • General Education Path: Fulfills general education courses toward an A.A. or A.S. Degree.
  • Career Path: Fulfills credit toward an A.S. Degree in selective programs.
  • Vocational Path: Fulfills vocational credit toward construction apprenticeships: electrical and fire sprinkler certificates only.

Students must provide ACT, SAT or CPT scores for college placement purposes for the academic and career path. Students enrolled in the vocational path will be required to take the TABE Test.

Advantages of Dual Enrollment
  • College tuition fees are waived.
  • College textbooks are free (for Seminole County public high school students) and free transportation is provided.
  • Accelerates a student's college career.
  • Allows qualified students to earn college credit and high school credit at the same time.
