Fire Science AS Degree This program is designed to prepare graduates for responsible employment in various fire science career fields. Graduates may expect to find employment opportunities with public fire departments, insurance companies, industrial firms, governmental agencies, educational organizations, and fire protection manufacturing and research groups. This degree program will enable persons currently employed in the fire service to prepare themselves for more advanced positions. The program includes the study of technical and general education subjects, sufficient to allow responsible employment and provide a base for those who wish to continue their formal education. Completion of this degree program may qualify Fire Service employees for State educational incentive salary supplements. The curriculum includes specialty courses that will meet the Florida State Bureau of Fire Standards educational requirements and qualify the individual for the following certification exams: Fire Officer I and Fire Safety Inspector.
