Advisory Committee Meeting
Minutes - July 22, 2004
Members Present:
Susan Bell, Christine Broeker, John Delgado, Dick Grant, Jeff Smith, Christine Stillings, Nana Robertson, Laura Ross, Maureen Tremel, Susan Weinman
T-2:
The Committee met in T-2, the site of the temporary Faculty Teaching/Learning Institute. The location has 3 rooms, a large bookshelf, desks, chairs, a table, and blackboard. The staff assistant for the Learning Institute will be housed in one of these offices in T-2.
Resources:
Title III has money to purchase resources for the Learning Institute. Pat DeSalvo and Christine Stillings have agreed to catalog these resources through the library system.
Faculty Survey:
Committee members discussed a draft of the faculty survey and offered suggestions for changes and additions. The committee also discussed how to distribute and collect the survey. Instead of including the survey in the Welcome Back booklet, it was decided to include a flyer in the booklet about the Learning Institute and the survey. Committee members offered to deliver the surveys to department meetings on the first day faculty return in August. At the next Committee meeting, we will divide up department meetings among Committee members.

Committee members discussed the idea of using the name Learning Institute for Faculty and Teaching (LIFT). Laura Ross will check with Dr. Wright about the parameters for name changes in the Title III grant.
The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 22, 2:00 p.m., in T-2, the site of the temporary Faculty Teaching/Learning Institute.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:00 pm.
