What is an Official Statement of Status of eligibility?
  • When you send a completed application package (CG-10) to the Florida Department of Education requesting a teacher certificate your package is evaluated to determine your eligibility for a Florida certificate. The determination is mailed to you as an Official Statement of Status of Eligibility.
  • The official Statement is valid for three years. It provides you a customized list of the requirements you must meet to be issued full state certification (a five year professional teaching certificate) in Florida.

Upon receipt of your Statement of Status of Eligibility, make an appointment with the EPI Director 407.708.2082, located on the Sanford/Lake Mary campus (F-110). Bring your SCC application and your Statement of Status of Eligibility

On which SCC campus will the program be offered?
  • All courses will be offered on SCC's Sanford/Lake Mary campus.
How long is the EPI Program?
  • The program is a nine month program with classes meeting both during the week and on weekends.
What are some of the costs/fees?

Estimated costs/fees are:

  • Tuition - $178 per segment
  • EPI Program - $1,250
  • Security Clearance/fingerprinting - $61
  • SCC application - $25
  • Transcript review for Statement of Status of Eligibility - $56
  • Certification Examinations for Educators - fees set by FLDOE per exam
