 Phi Beta Lambda Phi Theta Kappa SIFE
Phi Beta Lambda

Students enrolled in economics expecting to work in business will be interested in Phi Beta Lambda, a business fraternity. SCC has a very active chapter. Phi Beta Lambda has workshops, speakers, and activities including competition in a number of business areas.

Seminole Community College Economics students have achieved an enviable record in Phi Beta Lambda over the past eighteen years. In national competition based on a one-hour exam covering both macro and microeconomics, students have won 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th place. In order to go to national, students must have won first or second place in state competition. There is also a district competition.

Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE)

SIFE has the purpose of promoting education in the free enterprise system.

SIFE is sponsored by Walmart and nearly 100 other Fortune 500 companies. Membership is free and gives members the opportunity to develop leadership and communication skills as well as the chance to network with corporate executives.
