The Office of Disability Support Services

The Office of Disability Support Services (DSS) at Seminole Community College offers College constituents equity and excellence in education. By working with students, as well as faculty and staff members, on all SCC campuses, DSS ensures that appropriate academic adjustments are made to allow all students equal opportunities inside the classroom and around campus.

SCC believes in accentuating the abilities of all students and is committed to providing appropriate academic support services for persons with disabilities to ensure equal access for all.

DSS has serviced thousands of students since 1983 and works closely with counselors, faculty and staff members, as well as area agencies to provide:

  • Academic support.
  • Adaptive instructional equipment.
  • Reasonable accommodations.

DSS serves students under the auspices of Student Success Services in compliance with Section 504 of the Vocational Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
