SCC's marketing staff encourages SCC students, faculty, staff, alumni and community friends to submit images to be considered for use on the SCC Web site.

Image submissions should represent some aspect of SCC, its community, events, sites or academics. Images that promote specific Collegewide events or activities can be accepted based on the guidelines listed below.

SCC's marketing staff will make the final decision regarding image acceptance. Submission does not guarantee that the image will be used. All submissions will become property of SCC and permission to use the image is automatically granted for other SCC marketing purposes once submitted. Also, the communications staff and our digital media designers reserve the right to modify any image prior to use. This may include but is not limited to cropping, color correction, etc. Submission of a photo indicates the user has read and agrees to these terms.

Images may be submitted via e-mail as GIFs or JPEGs but should conform to the following guidelines:

User-Submitted Image Guidelines

Each submission must include the following:

  • Contributor's name
  • Contributor's hometown (if student)
  • e-mail address
  • Class year (if student)
  • Major (if student)
  • Brief explanation of the image, which should include any associated links

The final product should be a high-resolution image (preferably 300 dpi and at least 750 pixels in width) such as:

  • Original photographs
  • Owner-manipulated photographs (please indicate any manipulation when submitting)
  • Illustrations
  • Graphics

General Guidelines

  • Any photo taken off-campus AND containing recognizable faces must include release forms, which can be obtained from the College Relations and Marketing Office or downloaded using this link.
  • Please do not use the SCC logo, SCC word marks, Raiders icons, or explanatory text in the graphic. A caption will be included to explain the graphic.
  • Please do not submit images that are out of focus or of poor quality.
  • The most common reasons that images are not accepted are poor quality, incorrect orientation, inappropriate subject and/or lack of relevance to the SCC community.

Guidelines for Images Promoting Specific Events or Activities


  • Submissions should include minimal text describing the event or activity.
  • The event or activity being promoted must be open to the public and of broad interest. We prefer events that can be linked to a related news article or Web site.
Examples of photos:
  • SCC Symphonic Band
  • Holiday Choral Concert
  • Raiders Athletic event
  • Classroom projects
  • Club activities and service projects
  • Student artwork
  • Outdoor activities on campus
