Fees and Dates

• To be eligible for in-state fees, the applicant must be a resident of the State of Florida for the preceding 12 months. Please contact SCC's Admissions Office for details.
• Additional costs will include but are not limited to: Uniforms approximately $600* (Law Enforcement and Corrections only). Books approximately $400*
• Fees are subject to change.
• This is a limited access program. Students must complete the SCC and Criminal Justice Institute Application process before acceptance into program.

Law Enforcement Academy

• Day Program is between 18- 20 weeks (770 hours)
• Monday - Friday from 7:45 a.m. - 5 p.m.
• 2009 Day Academy Schedule:
  
  • February - July 2009
  • June - November 2009
• Times may vary according to instructional guidelines

• Night Program is approx. 29-31 weeks

• Monday - Thursday from 4:45 p.m. - 10 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
• 2009 Night Academy Schedule:
  
  • January - August 2009
  • May - December 2009
• Times may vary according to instructional guidelines
• Selection for these academies will take place 6-8 weeks prior to the first date of the academy
• Applications are accepted on a first come-first served basis for qualified recruits

  • Applicant Process - $125 (an accumulation of costs) *There is no application fee for this program.
  • Tuition/Lab Fee: $2,100 (in-state); $6,450 (out-of-state)
  • Books - $55
  • Uniforms - $500
• Financial Aid is accepted for those students who qualify

Corrections Academy

• Program is approx. 16 weeks
  Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
• Next Academy: February - June 2008

  1. Application Process - $125 (an accumulation of costs) * There is no application fee for this program
  2. Tuition/Lab Fee - $1,490 (in state); $4,420 (out of state)

Cross-Over Training

• Corrections to CMS Law Enforcement
• Next Day Academy:
  
  • June 24 - December 14, 2008
  • 8 a.m.-noon
  • Monday-Friday
• Requirements:
  
  • Admission to SCC
  • Complete SCC General Information Sheet
  • Provide passport size photo
  • CJ-BAT for Law Enforcement - Must be current on first day of class (within the past two years)
  • Copy of FDLE Corrections Certificate
  • Employment Verification Letter (if currently employed in Corrections) or
  • Criminal Background Check (if not currently employed in Corrections) $53.25
  • Provide the SCC Records Office with official transcripts from Corrections training school
• Costs: Approximately $1000 Tuition + cost of books

Auxiliary Law Enforcement Academy

  • Admission to Seminole Community College
  • CJ-BAT for Law Enforcement
  • Must be at least 19 years old
  • Have a valid Florida Drivers License
  • Complete Physical, Drug Screening, 7-year Driving Record, and Criminal Background Check
  • Complete and pass assessment evaluation process
  • Costs: Approximately $300.00 Tuition + cost of books
