Law Enforcement Officer Certificate

A law enforcement officer`s primary responsibility is to protect lives and property. All of their tasks relate back to this one responsibility. There are a wide variety of law enforcement officer types and organizations. Duties are performed based on the type of officer and organization. In almost all situations, law enforcement officers are expected to fulfill their responsibilities whether on or off duty.

SCC`s Criminal Justice Academy offers a training program for law enforcement officers. This program focuses on:

  • Emergency situations
  • Defensive tactics and weapons
  • Vehicle operation and traffic enforcement
  • Law enforcement patrol
  • Criminal investigations
  • Relationships with the community
  • Legal issues

This program prepares you for the FDLE exam. You cannot be employed as a law enforcement officer in Florida unless you pass this exam.

How do I earn the Law Enforcement Officer Certificate?

To earn the certificate, you must complete the curriculum.

Earning the Law Enforcement Officer certificate does not mean you are certified to work as an officer in Florida. You must pass the FDLE exam to earn the certification.
