Articulation Agreement

The purpose of this agreement is to provide graduates of the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC)-certified training academies with college-level course credit, which will apply toward an Associate of Science degree in criminal justice technology at Seminole Community College.

Student Procedures

Students who wish to receive credit for completion of either the Law Enforcement or Corrections Officer Academies must submit their Certificate of Completion to the Criminal Justice Program Manager for review and verification. Students must also complete a Request for Credit Form, which can be obtained from the Criminal Justice Institute. This form must be submitted by the Criminal Justice Program Manager to the Registrar's Office before credit can be posted to the student's transcripts.

For credit to be posted to a student's transcripts, that student must complete 12 hours of college-level coursework at SCC after graduating from the Criminal Justice Academy.

Provisions

I. Graduates of the Law Enforcement Academy shall receive 22 college-credit hours toward an Associate of Science degree in criminal justice technology for the following courses (as listed in the statewide course numbering system):

II. Graduates of the Corrections Officer Academy shall receive 16 college-credit hours toward an associate degree in criminal justice technology for the following courses (as listed in the statewide course numbering system):

III. The academies include all of those certified by the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission for providing the Law Enforcement or Corrections Officers Certificate Program.

IV. This agreement takes effect Term I, 2002-2003 and replaces any previous existing agreements. Students who have received credit under the previous agreement are not entitled to any rights or privileges granted under this agreement.

V. The above approved components are based upon the 2002-2003 SCC catalog and are subject to change by the BOR, DOE and legislative action or by SCC without notice. This agreement shall continue until such time as SCC deems it necessary to revise or terminate the agreement.
