Career Counseling

Counselors can assist students with career planning, which includes:

  • Clarifying goals and objectives
  • Defining career interests and abilities
  • Transfer information and requirements
  • Career decision-making process
  • Interpretation of career tests
  • Identifying career resource information
  • Life/Career Planning course

Confidentiality Policy

All information disclosed within a session, as well as the fact of signing up for services, is confidential and will not be revealed to anyone outside of the Counseling and Educational Planning Office without written permission of the student, except under three conditions:

  1. Where disclosure is required by law (i.e. when there is reasonable suspicion of abuse of children or elderly persons, or by court-ordered subpoena).
  2. Where the student presents a serious danger of violence to another.
  3. Where the student is likely to harm him/herself unless protective measures are taken.

Please know that our policy of confidentiality is rarely breached. But in the unlikely event that it is, your counselor will make every effort to let you know before doing so.
