Prospective Students

First time in College

After viewing an Orientation session, students will meet with a counselor/educational adviser either by appointment or as a walk-in. Students will need to provide documentation of:

  • High school transcripts
  • Test scores (SAT, ACT, CPT)
  • AP credits
  • CLEP test results
  • Dual enrollment courses

Counselors and educational advisers will assist students in selecting first term courses.

Note: Appointments are strongly encouraged, walk-ins may experience a wait.

Transfer Students

After viewing the Orientation CD, transfer students need to schedule an appointment to meet with a counselor/educational adviser. Transfer students will need to provide documentation of:

  • Unofficial transcripts from all previous colleges
  • Test scores
  • AP credits
  • CLEP test results

Counselors/educational advisors will review unofficial transcripts for general advising purposes. However, an official transcript evaluation by the Records Office is required in order to determine credit awarded at SCC. Eligibility for classes may be limited until the official evaluation is complete. Please allow one term for an official evaluation to be completed.
