General Recommendations and Information
- Values mean different things to different people. For example, one person might define "knowledge" as education; another person might define it as "experience"; and a third person might say it is both.
- It is important to keep the list of Core Values as short as possible.
- The Core Values Web site is now available.
- After all groups have met and prepared a final list, the information will be posted on the Web site. Faculty and staff will be asked to provide feedback by completing an online survey.
- Group II has recommended changing our definition of Core Values to:
Core values represent our shared beliefs and they define the character and essence of SCC.
- In addition to considering what is written on each group's list, please think about this comment from Frank Albritton (Group II):
I think this sums up much of what our group was saying:
"Our V.O.I.C.E. in Academic Freedom."
