Community Education

The Community Education Department offers a variety of non-credit, fee-based enrichment courses for community residents of all ages. Classes are offered at the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus, at 100 Weldon Boulevard; the Oviedo Campus, at 2505 Lockwood Boulevard; the Center for Economic Development at Heathrow, at 1055 AAA Drive; and the Altamonte Springs Campus, at 850 South SR 434.

Note: Effective May 1, LYNX has informed Seminole Community College that it will discontinue service to the two LYNX 39 bus stops between the B and D Buildings. The existing LYNX 39 bus stop, located in the loop off of Weldon Boulevard and adjacent to the A Building, will continue to offer service in both directions every 30 minutes.

Adult Recreation and Leisure

Recreation and Leisure programs are designed to respond to the diverse needs of adults by providing innovative, affordable and accessible courses in areas, such as art, communication, computers, music, dance, finance, fitness, sports, recreation, home improvement and safety.

Most courses are offered six times per year. They are a perfect way learn a new hobby or skill quickly, inexpensively and conveniently.

SALI Seniors Program

SALI (Seminole Adult Learning Institute) is a dynamic program for adults, ages 50 or more. Students enjoy the quality, culture and amenities of campus activities without the burden of tests, term papers or grades. SALI offers stimulating classes, lectures and special events at a substantial savings. SALI students have the opportunity to interact socially and develop new friendships with people who have common interests and lifestyles.

SALI classes/activities are offered in September and January.

Sample SALI classes include art appreciation, bridge, creative writing, computers, religious comparisons, foreign cultures and languages, yoga, golf, literature, travel opportunities, guest speakers and special performances and much more.

An inspiring program offering courses for school-aged children, adults and seniors, SCC is proud of its talented group of highly qualified instructors, as well as state-of-the-art equipment and facilities.

Online Courses
  • Basic Driver Improvement Course - Four hour
    No points assessed to drivers who complete this course for a traffic citation.
  • Basic Driver Improvement Course - Eight hour
    For individuals with a history of traffic violations.
  • D.A.T.A. (Drug Alcohol and Traffic Awareness Course)
    Required for all first time Florida driver license applicants.
  • Mature Driver Course
    Approved course for insurance discounts.
  • Parenting Course
    State of Florida-required course for parents in divorce situations.

In partnership with Seminole Community College, UCF Continuing Education Test Prep is now offering 24-hour comprehensive GRE® and GMAT® review courses at the SCC Heathrow Center, 1055 AAA Drive, Heathrow, FL.
