Workforce Development Programs - Student Transition and Achievement Resources (STAR) CenterThe STAR Center is designed to help career and technical program students overcome basic academic barriers in reading, language and math skills. STAR Center faculty offer self-paced, individualized instruction to assist students with TABE skills, basic and applied math, as well as basic communication, reading, grammar, employability, test-taking, time-management and study skills. Additional services include referrals to campus and community resources. Computer programs, such as BASE and PLATO (online), are available at the STAR Center to help students improve basic academic skills. Nursing Exam Study Guides, Test-Taking for Practical Nursing and computer program tutorials (Introduction to Computers) are also available. The STAR Center is located in J005B on the Sanford Lake Mary Campus and in room 220 on the Altamonte Springs Campus. For more information about the STAR Center, call 407.708.2364. |
