Career Development Center

The Career Development Center is an essential component of the Student Success Services Department at Seminole Community College. The Center's career collection contains nearly 2,000 items including books, reference materials, college catalogs, periodicals, pamphlets and electronic resources. This collection is available to assist students in their efforts to research career and transfer options.

Many of the Center's resources are now accessible through the SCC Web site at www.scc-fl.edu/careers/.

Job and Career Placement

The Career Development Center also provides job listings and placement assistance through the MySCCareer Source at www.myinterfase.com/seminolecc/student. More than 30,000 job referrals are annually given to students. Job listings come from private employers and local, state and federal government agencies. In addition, the Career Development Center staff conducts free seminars on employability skills such as networking, resume writing and interviewing. A semester schedule of these events is available at www.scc-fl.edu/careers/events/.

The Career Development Center also handles on-campus recruiting and interview scheduling for employers. To further aid the transition of SCC students into the workforce, the Career Development Center sponsors Career and Job Fairs that attract more than 90 businesses, public agencies and community organizations. There is no charge for any of these services.

The Cooperative Education Office assists prospective students in locating co-op positions, both paid and unpaid.
