ArticulationThere are several types of articulation agreements that benefit Seminole Community College students. Agreements exist between the community college and local school districts, as well as between the community college and bachelor degree granting institutions. SCC also articulates free college credit for students who have industry-recognized certifications in designated areas that are related to programs of study offered by the College. Florida Statute 1007.23 and State Board of Education Rule 6A-10.024 assure certain rights to Associate of Arts graduates and authorize several provisions for articulation from an Associate in Science to a baccalaureate degree. Although an A.A. degree from a public Florida Community College guarantees admission to an upper division institution in the State University System, it does not guarantee acceptance to a particular university or to selected, special or limited access programs. Associate of Arts degree recipients compete for admission into these programs on the same basis as students already enrolled at these institutions. Associate of Arts graduates also benefit from an articulation agreement that The State Board of Community Colleges has signed with the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida (ICUF). For more information on ICUF schools, visit http://www.icuf.org/ There is a statewide agreement for specified A.S. programs that allow Florida community college students to transfer to any SUS institution in the program designated to articulate with their degree, except for limited access programs and those requiring specific grades on particular courses for admission. SCC A.S. programs that are part of this articulation include: Business Administration, Criminal Justice Technology, and the Associate Degree in Nursing. All Associate in Science degree programs articulate into the UCF Bachelor of Applied Science, which is offered at UCF's regional campus located on SCC's Sanford/Lake Mary Campus. Since Seminole Community College is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), many courses should transfer to colleges and universities across the United States. Seminole Community College also has a number of articulation agreements with individual institutions, including Tech Prep agreements with Seminole County Public Schools and technical centers in the Central Florida region.; Institutional agreements also benefit graduates of a number of vocational programs by which credit can be articulated into college programs.
