Ford-ASSET: Expected Responsibilities of ParticipantsSeminole Community College Provide on-campus instruction in accordance with the approved ASSET curriculum. - Provide a classroom, shop and instructor.
- Provide generic equipment and tools.
- Provide academic advisement.
- Assist dealership coordinators in planning experiences at the sponsoring dealership. Instructors are assigned to dealership to follow-up during the co-op portion of program.
- Screen applicants and assist dealers with student selection for the program.
- Maintain all student records.
- Furnish program information when requested and provide graduates with associate degrees in automotive technology.
- Promote, advertise and recruit qualified student candidates.
- Serve on the ASSET Advisory Committee.
Students: - Maintain sponsorship with a Ford dealership.

- Maintain academic standards and adhere to academic policies.
- Participate in all learning activities at the scheduled times.
- Provide sponsoring dealer with responsible and productive employment.
- Be responsible for program costs: tuition, fees, books, and tools.
- Hold a valid Florida driver`s license.
- Be a high school graduate (or equivalent).
- Be 18 years of age or older by the time of the first dealership work assignment.
- Have the ambition to succeed in a challenging profession.
Ford Dealer: - Interview and select prospective students.
- Appoint an in-dealership coordinator to assist the College's ASSET coordinator in planning and monitoring the cooperative work experience.
- Provide appropriate work experience that reinforces the most recent classroom instruction.
- Pay students for time worked in the dealership.
- Provide students with uniforms consistent with the dealer's policy for other dealership employees.
The Ford Motor Company:
- Oversee and participate in the student selection procedure.
- Participate in the ASSET instructor selection process.
- Provide advanced technical training for the ASSET instructor.
- Furnish ASSET schools with Ford and Lincoln-Mercury training vehicles, components and essential training materials, including technical publications and training aids.
- Monitor all phases of the ASSET Program to ensure success.
