Women's BasketballRaider women's basketball has enjoyed a great deal of success through their years at Seminole Community College. SCC's women's basketball team has averaged more than 15 wins a season since the program started in 1979 and three Lady Raiders have been named NJCAA All-Americans. The Lady Raiders have a history of success - making their way to the post-season nearly every year, with several appearances in the State Tournament. Lady Raiders also find success after SCC as countless players have earned scholarships to four-year colleges, many of them Division I schools. SCC is a member of the NJCAA Division I and the Florida Community College Activities Association's (FCCAA) Mid-Florida Conference. The Raiders play their home games in the 3,000-seat Sanford/Lake Mary Campus Health Center Gymnasium. Scholarships for student-athletes including tuition and books, and in some cases, housing is available. Students interested in playing at SCC are encouraged to complete the online recruit questionnaire. Recent Women's Basketball NewsNo. 8 ranked Lady Raiders notch 24th victory The Lady Raiders improved their record to 24-1 with an 82-80 win in overtime against Santa Fe CC. The Lady Raiders had four players score in double digits. Jorane Metelus led the team with 25 points and 7 steals. LaQuita Curry named state Player of the Week for second time this season LaQuita Curry was named this week's FCCAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season. Curry, a freshman forward from Mims, Fla., averaged 16 points, 18.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 4 blocks in two Mid-Florida Conference games. Women's basketball ranked no. 8 nationally Seminole Community College's women's basketball team moved up a notch to no. 8 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) poll released Wednesday.
