Raiders Softball Coach - Jack Bitzer
Back for his fifth year at SCC is assistant coach Jack Bitzer. A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Bitzer is a graduate of West Virginia University, where he earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduation, he joined General Electric with the Major Appliance Business Group in Louisville, Ky., and later moved to Syracuse, N.Y. with GE's radar and sonar business. In 1988, Bitzer and his family moved to Orlando with Emerson Electric’s electronic business, and subsequently joined Sawtek, Inc. as a VP of Operations. Bitzer's fastpitch coaching experience began with the Seminole Softball Club in 1996. Over the past 10 years, he has been an active Board member at Seminole Softball Club serving as vice president and treasurer of a club that has more than 300 girls, ages four to 18, that participate in year-round fastpitch. After attending several Higher Grounds clinics and JoAnne Graf’s catching clinic, Bitzer began conducting hitting, catching and coaches clinics for Seminole Softball Club. Additionally, Bitzer has coached tournament teams for the past five years and recreation teams from ages 10 through high school for the past nine years. Bitzer's tournament teams won the AAA Sports Nationals and NSA Winter Nationals in 2004 and 2005. In 2005 his 16 and under team won the NSA "A" States and placed third in the NSA "A" World Series. |
