Men's Basketball

Raider men's basketball has a long and rich tradition at Seminole Community College. In fact, SCC's very first athletic event was a men's basketball game on November 24, 1966. SCC defeated Lake Sumter Community College 74-51. Additionally, SCC's first men's basketball coach and athletic director Joe Sterling is a member of the FCCAA Hall of Fame.

Since then, Raider basketball has thrived - vying for post-season play nearly every season, making several appearances in the State Tournament and helping countless players earn scholarships to four-year colleges, many of them Division I schools.

SCC is a member of the NJCAA Division I and the Florida Community College Activities Association's (FCCAA) Mid-Florida Conference. The Raiders play their home games in the 3,000-seat Sanford/Lake Mary Campus Health Center Gymnasium. Scholarships for student-athletes including tuition and books, and in some cases, housing is available.
