Mike Jackson
Joining SCC for his first season as assistant coach is Mike Jackson, bringing with him more than 20 years of baseball conditioning and coaching experience. Jackson is a certified personal trainer and a specialist in sport conditioning, as well as a certified speed, agility and quickness trainer. For the past five years, Jackson was the pitching, strength and conditioning coach at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. During that time, he developed and implemented strength and conditioning program for the varsity and JV programs and helped lead Douglas to several District Championships. Jackson also recently opened the Hit & Run Baseball Indoor Training Facility in Sanford. Familiar with community college athletics, Jackson was a pitcher for Miami-Dade College before an arm injury shortened his pitching career. He went on to assist the pitching staff and play intercollegiate basketball, studying electronic engineering at Miami-Dade College. He received his B.A. in applied science from the Cleveland Institute of Electronics and spent 20 years building cable television systems. He and his wife Dena and their three children live in Sanford. |
