Howard Mabie

Baseball Coach Howard Mabie

Howard Mabie returns to SCC for the fifth year of his second stint as assistant coach. Mabie previously worked with SCC athletes from 1982 to 1986. Coach Mabie's duties include coaching infielders and hitting instruction.

Mabie was assistant coach to Jay Bergman at the University of Central Florida in 1989 when UCF made its first NCAA Regional appearance. Prior to that, he coached at Oviedo High School and had teams that won several conference, district, regional and sectional titles, along with state playoff appearances. In 1990, Mabie became head coach at Valencia Community College until the program was cancelled in 1998. During his time at Valencia, his teams made several FCCAA State/Regional tournament appearances.

Mabie went on to become head coach at Edgewater High School from 1998-2002. He now teaches anatomy and physiology at Winter Springs High School and coaches at Seminole Community College. Mabie and his wife Susse live in Ocoee. He is the proud grandfather of two.
