SCC Raiders Athletic Training and Sports Medicine

Raider health is viewed as just as important a component to competitive athletics as speed, cardiovascular efficiency and muscular strength. Seminole Community College Athletics incorporates a team of sports medicine professionals into its intercollegiate program that oversee the health and well being of its athletes. The first tier in that team is the on-site Board Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer (ATC/L).

Certified Athletic Trainers are educated, trained and licensed healthcare professionals who provide immediate care to our competing athletes through injury prevention programs, first aid, on-site injury recognition and evaluation, and musculo-skeletal rehabilitation.

If a health issue should arise that lays outside the provisions of the on-site Athletic Training Department, area specialists have amiably extended the services of their disciplines to SCC Athletics as part of our extended sports medicine team.

To learn more of what Certified Athletic Trainers do and who they are, visit the national, state and regional governing organizations listed below. Also provided are links to a world-level organization and the certifying body for Athletic Trainers.
