Altamonte Springs Campus
SCC's new four-story Altamonte Springs Campus is the third campus the College has opened in Seminole County, and is the first phase in an ongoing
major expansion into southwestern Seminole County, an
area that includes nearly a quarter of a million residents.
This 100,481-square-foot Campus has state-of-the-art health labs, technology-enhanced classrooms
equipped with the latest wireless network access, and a fully-equipped library. This building is the first phase in a five-year plan to expand into southwestern Seminole County.
The new $33 million SCC Campus can
accommodate up to 5,000 students with a comprehensive curriculum that includes
all the courses students need to complete an arts or science degree. During the
first full year of operation, SCC predicts that more than 3,600 students will
take at least one course at the Campus.
The facility also includes:
- Health Professions Facility: SCC's renowned health care programs will be concentrated in this facility, and will use innovations and simulations to enhance and expand the student learning experience.
- State-Of-The-Art Classrooms and Labs: Today's learning spaces require increased utilization of the latest computer technologies to enhance student learning and student success.
- Wireless Access: All Altamonte Springs Campus classrooms will have wireless network access.
- High-Tech Classrooms: These specialized classrooms will feature multi-media and audio-visual systems and video-conferencing capabilities.
- Information Commons: The Altamonte Springs Campus will offer an open, active, multi-story space, including a full-service library, where College, community, and business constituents can gather.
- Prime Location: Conveniently located adjacent to the Maitland Blvd. 434 interchange, SCC's Altamonte Spring Campus will offer a highly visible, easily accessible college experience to Central Florida's growing population for decades to come.
- Unique Interior Design: The building uses wayfinding, which helps guide visitors and students. Each floor has a unique color palate. The first and third floors have a cool color palate, and the second and fourth floors have a warm palate. On each floor are kiosks with three computers and a printer, providing a student access point for class schedules and other school information.
